Communities In Schools of Jacksonville is extremely proud to be hosting its Fourth Annual Rising Stars! fundraising event.  Our students work hard throughout the year in school and in our programs.  This event provides students with the amazing opportunity to be recognized for their work in school as well as for their extraordinary talents.  The students are able to let their creativity out in an array of talents.  Almost 40 acts auditioned, and the night will have a range of performances from piano players, to singers and dance groups.  Members of the community are invited to come out an witness everything these students have to offer.  Recognizing and showing support to these students for all the work they do is beneficial because it encourages them to keep going strong in all acts of life.

While the event will showcase the accomplishments of our students it will also tribute our community supporters who have contributed to the long-standing success of Communities In Schools of Jacksonville.  Event proceeds will help Communities In Schools remain a staple in drop-out prevention and keep thousands of at-risk students on track through graduation.  The Rising Stars! event helps our goal to bring awareness to our programs benefiting local students and raising funds needed to continue providing these services to at-risk students.

Rising Stars! will take place on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019, from 6-9pm at the Florida Theatre in Downtown Jacksonville.  The evening will include a cocktail hour with heavy hors d'oeuvres, silent auction with a wide range of over 40 items, and the student showcase.  Each ticket for the event also comes with two drink tickets for the cocktail hour.  The event is expected to have over 400 attendees to celebrate the students.  To make the night even more special, we have celebrity emcee, News4Jax Reporter, Vic Micolucci with a co-emcee from JEB Stuart Middle School.  There will also be three community celebrity judges for the student showcase.  To support their own favorite acts, the audience will have the chance to text to vote.  We are very excited to be hosting Rising Stars! for the fourth year and can't wait to show everyone the amazing talents our students have to offer.  It will be a night you won't want to miss!
