The Coach Foundation is awarding their Dream It Real college scholarship to two seniors from William Raines High School who are part of the Communities In Schools of Jacksonville program, helping them turn their dreams of higher education into reality. On April 15, 2025, the Coach Foundation proudly announced the recipients of the scholarship: siblings Christian Nguyen and Rebecca Nguyen, who will both attend Florida State College of Jacksonville this fall. With 74% of the student body at William Raines High School facing economic disadvantages, the opportunity to attend college without the burden of financial constraints is a game-changer. Chief Executive Officer of Communities In Schools of Jacksonville, Leon Baxton, stated,

“Opportunities like this have the potential to alleviate long-term hardships.”

He believes this initiative will empower more students to pursue higher education and create lasting change in their lives.

The students were selected through an application and essay submission process conducted in collaboration with the leadership teams at Coach and Communities In Schools. In addition to the scholarship funds, local Coach employees will continue to provide mentorship and support throughout the students’ college journey—and beyond.

The Coach Foundation has been a key partner of Communities In Schools of Jacksonville since 2015, funding literacy and workforce development initiatives for students in the Jacksonville area. Tapestry, the parent company of Coach, is dedicated to advancing social impact initiatives through its various brands. David Casey, Tapestry’s Chief Inclusion & Social Impact Officer, shared insights into the company’s ongoing commitment to creating positive change,

"As someone who also faced economic challenges in my youth, it is deeply fulfilling to now be part of a company that is committed to providing these vital opportunities for students to dream it real. We are proud to support Christian and Rebecca as they embark on their college journey."
