Celebrating Our 2025 Bank of America Student Leaders

As summer fades into the start of a new school year, we look back with gratitude on four outstanding individuals who served as our Bank of America Student Leaders.

The Bank of America Student Leaders program is an eight-week paid summer internship that empowers high school juniors and seniors through hands-on leadership development and community service. Interns are matched with local nonprofits where they work 35 hours per week, gaining real-world experience while preparing to become the next generation of changemakers.

For 21 years, CIS Jax has proudly welcomed Bank of America Student Leaders to be part of its mission. Over the summer, the student leaders are placed at summer camp sites across Duval County, working closely with site coordinators to support academic lessons, enrichment activities, guest visits, and field trips. This particular group of student leaders brought energy, compassion, and new insight into every day.

Student Leader Sahiti, who served at Andrew Robinson Elementary, reflects on the impact the students had on her.

“This summer reaffirmed my purpose to help create a better world for those who come after me. I cannot name a group of kids more deserving of a better world, and I will keep their memory in my heart as a reminder of who we’re fighting for.”

In addition to working with students, the student leaders also contributed to efforts in the CIS Jax main office; helping to prep materials for camp, attending board meetings and training, and learning how nonprofits operate on an organizational level.

A National Impact: The Student Leaders Summit

A highlight of their summer experience was attending the Bank of America Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. Students from across the country came together to explore leadership, public policy, and civic engagement. They met with lawmakers, discussed pressing issues, and gained tools to amplify their voices in their communities.

Student Leader Haley shared how meaningful it was to be surrounded by like-minded peers.

“I learned so much, not just from state legislators but from the other student leaders. They helped me recognize the power of individuality and the value of learning from one another.”

This powerful partnership with Bank of America shows what’s possible when mentorship and community come together.

To our student leaders, thank you. You made a lasting impact on our students, staff, and programs. We can’t wait to see the incredible things you’ll accomplish.
